Our youngest does Barn Hunt. We’re not serious about competing—it’s just something fun to do and she enjoys it. We had another dog, now gone, who also enjoyed it but he never understood why he didn’t get to keep the rats after he went to all that trouble to find them.

Ditto. Not sure how big your cat is, but mine loves coming along for walks in her backpack carrier. Then when we take breaks we let her out to sniff around on leash. We don’t do it often, but she does seem to like it.
