The Leica Q is the best fixed-lens compact camera

Thanks! I’m still very amateurish with wide-angle (got it last Oct.), but it’s really fun. It’s crazy spotting your shoes in the viewfinder if you angle just slightly down.

A couple of shots with my ZS40 (resized for the interwebs).

Wide-angle (the lack of a lens hood makes itself known, but I actually liked the effect in this shot):

Zoomed in, standing at the same spot:

These were both taken in full-auto point-and-shoot mode.

I am never really sure what to make of those full frame compacts. The body is tiny, but the lens is pretty substantial, even more so than that of the Sony RX1R II. I think if the camera is a barely pocketable brick anyway, then I’d prefer a slightly bigger body.

Right. I can’t help but feel this camera will show up, minus a red dot, as the “Panasonic Lumix LX-Hnngg” for half the price in about 6 months.

Doesn’t seem likely. Those were the various iterations of the D-LUX and V-LUX.

If someone sells a camera called a Hnngg I’m definitely buying it.
