When only outlaws have faraday cages, the tin foil hat preppers will rule the world. Bwahaha!

That might work for the Las Vegas Strip, just have one on the five main intersections…

Immobilize boats?

Good luck with that.

Yeah but a Coast Guard cutter can catch that. Those super fast cigarette boats running drugs are the hard ones to catch.

It sounds like they up-shifted at least 17 times. But my CVT scooter has no gear-song at all.

Hmm, I need to re-listen now that you pointed this out. Thanks!

I was imagining the scooter doing something maybe a bit lively, but yeah, it’s probably not going to win a hot race in a Ridley Scott film. Your scooter does look to be in mint shape though. Nice.

POVERTY FOR THE WIN! Yeah, I just checked replacement parts for my car’s ignition - I’d still be rollin’!

Postscript: ‘Red Fury’ was my ironic nick-named for car #2. It was an '83 Honda hatchback that could not be killed. I sometimes wonder in which western state it’s sitting up on blocks, getting re-habbed into a street racer. I had to rebuild the carburetor more than once, and I guarantee there are no electronics in it at all.

In that scenario police would be far better off with an international standard for remotely disabling a power vehicle. You could do it through the normal 4G interface (like the one Tesla use to upgrade their firmware). It would be a cloud service. Probably the local police get a vehicle ID from the registration, and a message goes to the manufacturer to send a disable message.

20 years hence, interfaces like that might be routinely used in traffic stops.

The Pentagon Is Making a Ray Gun to Stop Truck Attacks

No, they’re making a raygun to oppress people. If one of these is ever used to stop a vehicle attack, I’ll be amazed. Instead it just be misused in every way imaginable. It’ll only be a matter of time before police cruisers are outfitted with miniaturized versions.

I sure hope none of the bystanders / downrange non-targets have pacemakers.

Let’s see… range 50 meters, weighs 400 pounds, needs mobile 300kw power source… I think I’ll try my luck with a big NERF gun, thanks.

OH, I am glad you cleared this up. I assumed it was a euphemism.

A euphemism for a Plymouth Fury? …or a euphemism for a troll?

I tried to use this ‘Red Fury’ as my little icon, but it didn’t shrink well:

Hmph. More police vehicles with funny looking gadgets.

Submarines… how well does a HERF gun work through water?

My dad would probably know that lures name.

And now, I as going with a sexual euphemism… because the internet is mainly porn and warped my fragile little mind.

Good question, though in the past they would have to surface to fire a gun, before they got torpedoes working.
