I was able to witness the first crewed space flight of SpaceShipOne from that spaceport in 2004. Just beyond the press area was a big gathering of colorful space enthusiasts who were having a collective tailgate party to celebrate the event; the atmosphere almost did resemble something you might see at the Mos Eisley Cantina.
