Is it, though? It’s also somewhat common, especially if the subject relates to the filmmaker’s own life — I think a documentary about your mother would qualify.
This film sounds interesting, but the above comment just seems superfluous and a bit out of touch with decades of personal docs that aren’t exactly uncommon at this point.
