I would probably do it completely mechanical. E.g. a small balloon filled with air, and a spring pushing back against it to keep the lock closed — if the balloon’s pressure is high enough, it will push the lock open. You’d probably need to re-inflate the balloons from time to time (just like you have to refill the oxygen bottles), but then it’s going to work without any electricity, just based on air pressure. You might have some problems when you land in Lima or Lhasa, but otherwise, that system should be robust.
