Is there any reason for emphasizing that the deal is secret? Such contracts between companies are, I think, almost always confidential.

So the indie artists are getting screwed because they don’t have a major label negotiating for them, and the artists on major labels are getting screwed because they don’t have a major label negotiating for them.

It’s time for statutory licenses, not only for streamed music but all mass media content. Relieving the cultural friction that existing copyright law is having on society needs to happen … and soon.
