Why flight attendants hate Diet Coke

There’s tubes that drop down for oxygen. How come this hasn’t been translated for soda, water, juice, or alcohol yet? Of course, disposable straw tips.

Several times (not every time) I’ve flown on Southwest, the beer was on the house (or, wing). On one occasion they gave me two, and on another the flight attendant (without my asking about it) “you look like you could use a beer.”

In all cases I was traveling with my kids, who are relatively well-behaved, but I guess I looked frazzled.

I’m surprised there ins’t just a cooler at the front of the plane with plastic bottles of soda and water. Get your own! The whole kabuki of having flight attendants “serve” the passengers is lost when it’s just a soda and some peanuts. If they’re trying to invoke the full meals from the 1970s, nobody remembers them!

I don’t understand why sedatives don’t come with US-Australia flights. 20+ hours on a plane is just too long. Why travel more uncomfortably than the family dog?

Why flight attendants hate Diet Coke

Because they have taste buds?

I’d think the foot traffic in the aisles would be an issue if it was self serve. Or people would be grabbing them in the boarding process and causing delays because they have one additional thing to juggle, then they would be opening them early and having spills during takeoff. It’s a problematic idea.
