Why is there a two hour line at this particular ATM in New York City?

When I used to do that it was a $3 fee. Flat.

But $3 here and there for that kind of shit adds up fast.

It’s also not uncommon in these communities to have to pay cash for certain bills because they’re already well passed due. If you’re already months past due on the power, and checks have bounced. If your water is off and you need it on today. It’s gotta be cash, or a money order at 10% fee.

That’s the point! (As well as the cruelty.)

I used to work in that building in the mid-80’s. It was an industrial design firm. The boss owned the building. He was a piece of work. The fact that it houses a bank now tells me his spirit still haunts the place.
