The WIkipedia (WP) article at Timeline of the far future offers the possibility that our descendants may still be around in 800 million years! While I like WP’s eternal optimism, I’m personally even more optimistic than that, hoping that our species might have found some kind of a solution to our kind’s seemingly eternal struggle to find true inner contentment, long before that (and I do actually believe that such a thing may exist, and not through mutual extermination.) Ah… the folly of eternal optimism…
