Women routinely caught fire in the mid-19th century

I’m incredulous the authors somehow made this into a feminist issue.

Did men’s clothing catch fire as often as women’s did? (Apparently not.) Did the way women were expected to dress have something to do with how very much more often they were caught in such fires? (Apparently so.)

Yeah, my grandmother’s little sister died after her dress caught fire, and they were dirt poor. This was 1930’s, though.
