Good Gulf was a gasoline! Now I get one more pun in Bored of the Rings.
I liked Tom Disch’s SF stories back in the day; I think he went a little weird towards the end but I still revisit his LiveJournal occasionally to read his poetry there.
Disch was an incredible writer. I enjoyed his novels a lot. Some of them, a very hard pill to swallow.
However, let’s remember also his death. Ruined by the illness of his long time partner (another man, Disch was gay), he committed suicide. Let us never forget this, just one in the millions of tragedies caused by a rotten health care system in the US.
