It turns out that SDPD never wrote the privacy policies it promised were in place when it launched the program four years ago.
Next task: can someone local to SD submit some FOIA requests to get SDPD’s emails regarding this project? I suggest a very strong likelihood these records will show the “privacy policies” were never even intended to be written from day 1, and the the entire concept was a lie built to sell a bill of goods through the gov’t budget. With luck, it might even stand as evidence of perjury of certain officials in their testimony regarding this project.
