Props are due to be credited to the Homeskillet Music Festival. It last took place July 30th – August 1st, 2015, and from what I see and hear (I wanted to go but couldn’t swing it), it was a fantastic lineup of contemporary and aboriginal music. I don’t think there are plans for a future festival, but I could be wrong; watch both http://www.homeskilletfest.com and http://homeskilletrecords.bandcamp.com for more.
A key force behind the label is Nicholas Galanin, aka Silver Jackson, who is also tearing up the contemporary art scene as well (in the best ways). He was featured on BB years ago http://boingboing.net/2009/06/17/nicholas-galanins-bo.html but he has been busy doing much since then. Definitely one to watch. http://galan.in/
