I heard that the amigas could squeeze 880k onto a floppy.

Yeah, never heard of it until I saw the one at the back of my friends shed. Having edited 16mm film back in the day I instantly recognised the tech and couldn’t believe what I’d found!! Probably a pretty good idea using optical instead of magnetic tape which the Meletron used i.e. relatively roobust physically.

These turn up on ebay for around $1K and the discs for $50. There is also a modern midi controllable disc player for around $4k. Apparently one of the hacks is to put the discs in upside down/ backwards or multiple discs at the same time.

And since the disc are just plastic, I’m pretty sure you could reproduce and print them quite easily. Even today, a laser printer could do the job I think !

Indeed, esp. considering their being mostly associated with synthesizers it was this strange organ that was the sound of Kraftwerk
