I can only talk from an enterprise point of view, but there are several brands I would recommend, all they need is PoE, and everything is on the cloud, cost might be a bit higher than consumer units, but you can do things like share single cameras (and certain time periods) with external people, and the footage is viewable on the web or via smartphone. Only problem is its a subscription, you buy the camera, the cloud stuff is paid for monthly/yearly.
The ones we use are Verkada, but there are others.
