Great film. Still timely. Drives home how racism is used by powers that be to drive a wedge between working people. To get them to attack their own economic interests.
Danny Peary’s Cult Movies books does a very good writeup on the film and its wild production history.
(Think about how difficult it was to make a pro union film in the middle of the McCarthy era)
