Reading this thread for the first time since last night doesn’t help one’s anxiety. I hope everyone is keep as safe as they reasonably can with militarised police on the rampage. The comparisons to history are certainly valid but with mass surveillance being used the deck is so stacked on the side of authority that i fear for when the roundups and disappearances start. The way for a cop to actually show solidarity with the protests would be to throw down their badges and help in physically fighting off the cops who are assaulting protesters.
