and yet if you’re an independent and don’t vote all Dem, the shills will show up and scream that you’re taking the country to GOP hell.
I understand the argument, but it is effectively saying that no party should even exist if it holds a position to the left of 50% of the Democrats.
I know… It’s insane. The things people will justify in the name of political expediency.
and you hear it every election cycle and, strangely, the Dems only continue to move Right and never get any better.
I know. And the drumbeat from the far right is that the center right democrats are somehow far left socialists, who are bent on making America into a communist country… And that drives the rhetoric even further to the right.
I hate this defeatist attitude. Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are to the left of Obama on many issues like immigration, and trade. You want change? Make it.
Not really.
People are trying.
Because Obama is the measure of leftness?
I’ll vote for Sanders if he’s the candidate. Clinton doesn’t get my vote.
Pray tell how we’ve marched ever rightward from Bill Clinton, to Al Gore, Kerry, Obama and now Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
The rightward march begins with Reagan. Reagan is to the left of many of the current presidential candidates. Carter is to the far left of all the democrats since Clinton except Sanders (who is not a democrat). the entire political system has skewed right since the end of the Cold War.
Hell, Nixon and Johnson are downright leftists compared to current Democrats.
I know, right. There are things that Nixon did which would be considered evil by the right now. And Nixon was terrible, a paranoid, authoritarian ass, if ever there was one.
I could totally get into this right there. A four candidate presidential election with essentially two candidates on each side of the proverbial aisle? My god man, how the DNC and GOP establishments would howl.
Almost as delicious as a BERNIE TRUMP 2016 ticker. The best running mates.
A surprising amount of newly disenfranchised D’s will not be, myself included. Voting interests this year, not fears.
That’s the Socialist coalition. A Democratic Socialist and a National Socialist.
When Cory Met Bernie.
