The show Elementary predicted this in 2018 with a fake app called “AwayKay Mobile”, renting a van on the street like AirBnB. Of course there was some related clue that helped solve some crime, but I do remember that as being both a silly idea, and surprised it hadn’t been done yet!

I never really want to drive in NYC again in a car, the thought of driving an RV into the city just makes me almost sick with anxiety. Which was one of the reasons why I really liked the concept of staying across the river…
