Yes, but you don’t need to worry about this if you have properly installed spring bars from a competent watchmaker, either 
There are other ways bands attach to cases as well. Not all watches use springbars. Some have sewn bands over swinging lugs, some screw to the case.
But if it worries you and you dont mind the look, go for it

I actually do prefer leather bands (which are on all the other watches in my small collection), but I did have fun ‘dressing-down’ these two which I, by far, most often use:
