It’s certainly possible. But I don’t see another table that it might have lived on, and the burned out couch is still sunward of the table it sits on in the photos. The crystal ball would also need to be very close to the ignition point (like a couple of inches), unless it is made of some exotic low-refraction material. That’s the part that makes me most skeptical.
But I’m only skeptical - not denying that the stated cause is possible.
