Can we get that barfing reaction emoji now, please?
21st century too.
Here’s a “Mr Clean” ad that wasn’t too long ago:
And I’m sure there are many, many more recent examples as bad or worse.
Yes. Advertising agencies continue to create sexist ads. This century.
Here’s an example from 2002, created by Saatchi & Saatchi for Natan Jewelry.
Holy crap… wow…
OMG! Cancel all of my appointments!
That’s a shame. The early bird special is meatloaf today!
Up and down Madison Avenue:

“Distasteful?”
More like an indictment of just how historically shitty a capitalist society run by self absorbed rich White men has been.
The “angry” one is the best we have, but it does not really get the message across. I was really hoping for “Look how far we’ve come,” but looking at the dates, yeah. Not so much.
The second fellow in the Van Heusen ad is the epitome of Slack.
One other thing that’s surprising is that they used the word ‘vaginal’ not twee little euphemisms like ‘my special secret’ or ‘love cushion’.
Some poor innocent reader might have stumbled across that word and had a fit of the vapours.
‘Ladies - have you had a fit of the vapours? Why not rest your fragile mind with all new benzodiazepine? They go well with vodka!’
An eyeroll would be equally useful.
