As much as I love these designs, the feature set still seems pretty sparse. I’m waiting for another generation or three before I buy into this technology.

With ML it could predict the next switch and premptively block.

Also, these things are pretty adept at entertaining humans, so I wonder about the “useless” moniker.

I’ve used variations of this opposite-of-the-useless-machine circuit a lot. Once turned on, the light stays on because it is on. I think this a metaphor for life (as is video feedback: https://vimeo.com/8540468).

If I had time, I would build a Useless Machine that detects the capacitance of a finger on the switch, and preemptively blocks the switch whenever it is touched.
