Regarding MLK and non-violence:
if you’re going to splain him to us at least spell his name right
Congratulations on having a great-great-grandfather who put you in a position to know so much about what kinds of protests are appropriate for responding to 400 years of police violence against people of color.
MLK isn’t doing anything in the present tense; he’s been dead for the last 52 years, because he was assassinated by racists.
Thanks for 'splaining a deceased Black leader’s intent; there’s nothing inappropriate about that at a time like this, not at all.
That’s some serious fucking whitesplaining there…

In the Heat of the Summer
In the heat of the summer
When the pavements were burning
The soul of a city was ravaged in the night
After the city sun was sinkin’
…
Drunk with the memory of the ghetto
Drunk with the lure of the looting
And the memory of the uniforms shoving with their sticks
Asking, are you looking for trouble?
No, no, no, moaned the mayor.
It’s not the way of the order.
Oh stay in your homes, please leave us alone
We’ll be glad to talk in the morning.
…
And when the fury was over
And the shame was replacing the anger.
So wrong, so wrong, but we’ve been down so long
And we had to make somebody listen
In the heat of the summer…

Whitesplaining? I’ll listen to Julius Lester. (1965) (scroll down to Mustache Blues)
Well I heard that the police are looking for a Negro with a mustache (2x)
Lord, you know I started to shave, but I knew it wouldn’t matter much at that
…
If I could think of somewhere to go, I’d leave New York City in a flash (2x)
But in every town, I bet they’re looking for a Negro with a mustache.
I agree. You get to complain about riots and lootings when the cops haven’t murdered anybody in the country for 5 years.
We can’t even make it through five days.
