Seems to this clueless pilgrim that if a Personal Computer is the size of phone then we’ve finally arrived and can just dispose of all else except maybe a docking station with a larger screen/keyboard. oh, and maybe an automobile. (“Whhot!? and give up me game controller!?”)

i think the battery is maybe the big thing. it takes up a lot of the room inside a phone, while a pc gets to use that space for other things because it’s always plugged in

The Windows 11 part is less exciting, but it’s always good to see additional options for home server boxes. I bet it’d run Kodi on Debian real nice.

That’s my hang up; haven’t we had pcs this size for years? just not running one of the worst OSs known to man

Worse OS so far. We are but 2 iterations from Windows 13…

As i type this on work pc of a 7 year old intel nuc, with duel monitors, I wonder what the fuss is about, for desktop stuff the nuc works fine, and easy remotes in to all the servers i need it to. Its never going to play games or do nice gfx, but i dont really need that for work.

I replaced my mouse yesterday-- my old one was aging out. It’s a usb gaming mouse, with all sorts of weird customization features. The software to control those extra features doesn’t actually work unless the mouse is plugged directly into the computer.

Similarly, my dvd drive doesn’t work unless it is plugged directly into the computer,

And my mac mini has only two such USB-A ports. Two peripherals jostling for those ports because they’re too good to hang off a hub like a normal device.

Sometimes there isn’t a lot of point to being tiny.
