Very cool, but should be mentioned that this is a rebadge of Gakken kit - apparently you can get it for $40 cheaper from Amazon.

There is supposedly a way to “cut” audio into the blank out-grooves of regular vinyl. Basically you get one of these standalone amped turntables and reverse the audio flow, placing a mic where the speaker would be in the circuit. (I have never actually tried this but I saw a schematic years ago.)

Those grooves are left blank on purpose! Do you want to summon Satan? 'Cause recording in that dead space is how you summon Satan! :scream: :imp:

This urban legend has been brought to you by Woo Concepts, a wholly owned subsidiary of Crackpot Ideas GmbH

Ha— fun toy. I love the auto swarf-winding hub (as seen the demo video above).

Maybe it just needs a Jack White endorsement?

That is neat, but “lefty-tighty” is blowing my mind…

Ooh, I wonder if the little filaments that get carved out of the blank are as flammable as those cut from real records!

My better half watches this guy sometimes and he did a review of this…

If you don’t much care for the lo part of lofi

That lathe looks solid. And expensive.
