Being frustrated by an inability to effectively communicate, especially when dealing with someone in an already frustrating situation whose job is very specifically built around communicating effectively, seems reasonable and doesn’t really have anything to do with liberalism or acceptance of diversity in general, though?
I mean, the complainers in your example might still be right assholes, but that doesn’t seem much evidence of it.
(Or perhaps I’m simply sympatheic because I have incredible difficulties parsing certain accents, to the point where I cannot have phone conversations with certain people I know - I have to have them text or email me)
I think it was implied that White People accents got compliments and Brown People accents got complaints. Still I don’t think the compliments and complaints came from the same people, and think the people complaining were genuinely unused to Indian accents.
