Two gramophones and a megaphone, yo!
While I think this is cool, wow!, this reeks of hipsterism. I’m cringing.
Hmm, a vegan who plays old timely 78s. Does she know that those old pre-vinyl records were made of shellac?
If she loves 78s she really shouldn’t be doing this. She should be using a modern stylus with a diamond tip.
Super cool idea and I imagine very popular for weddings. I’m curious as to whether she amplifies the gramophones — they aren’t very loud and would get quickly drowned out by people chatting at dinner.
I wonder if this could be done with a cylinder record?
Is this a Portlandia skit?
Put a bird on it.
Presumably she is not going to eat them.
All the kids are doing the charleston at the rave in the old shoe and buggy whip factory

I’ve managed something between this and newer technology by using vintage gramophone horns but fitting them with bluetooth speakers: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqeBZArhOKZ/
I remember a print ad Tommy Boy Records ran in CMJ and/or The Source back in the late 90’s, that showed a guy in a bowler hat cutting and mixing on two victrolas with the caption “Down Since Day One”-- quick google search isnt bringing it up.
A strict vegan does not eat or use animal products.
Lines have been drawn and twitter will ignite with indignant waffle.
Mmm waffles
This guy has been doing it for years.
That’s a pretty tiny technicality given that these records are all 80+ years old and playing them in no way generates demand for new shellac records.
Straight out of a bugs butt!!!
There’s a guy here in Pennsylvania that does this. Check out my boy DJ Black Jack Shellac:
