Thankfully the new ‘Tarmac Regulatory Recovery Surcharge’ should fix the balance sheet right up; telco style!

I guess that’s yet another way to redistribute PPP funds!

(Or claw them back.)

American Airlines blames the weather.

Weather having been invented in 2018, leaving AA completely and understandably unprepared for its existence.

“Them” meaning AA or the passengers?

“Split” meaning the government pays half? That’s a weird way to fine a company.

No, it means that the passengers only get 350 each, and the government gets a little over 2M.

I read this depressing and accurate post on how airlines are symptomatic of a five or more to one ratio of coercion versus care/service in their allocation of resources:

It’s lucky that we are going to stop subsidising these parasites because without massive subsidies from appetite to arsehole the air travel industry is as unsustainable economically as it is environmentally.
