Duh, because that’s racist! And colleges would never want to appear racist.

Well, apparently you can. Learn a foreign language to fluency, learn a new category of musical instrument to expertise, or just spend many tedious hours on N-back training. Basically, you can increase your IQ by boosting your fluid intelligence and/or your working memory. But it’s hard.

Remember, though, that IQ is a measurement. It’s not what’s being measured. What’s being measured is a particular type of problem solving ability, that is broadly applicable to many situations in modern society. It will not necessarily help you achieve every type of goal.
