The scientific process really does need to be defended. In my youth I always thought it was a universally accepted process to best determine truths and to correct past mistakes. However, facts get in the way of what a lot of people want to acquire for themselves, so the scientific process is constantly being undermined and attacked. These two deserve the recognition and hopefully it inspires more to do the same.
