I was just wondering if anyone here is into amateur radio. I live near a lot of rural and semi-rural areas where it tends to be a little more popular. I’m learning about band plans and operating procedure and whatnot to get my technician license. The exam itself is easy, but I hear people can be jerks to newcomers, I was wondering if anyone could confirm/deny this. Any tips, tricks, common pitfalls? My main goal is to get my licenses and build my own radios and really just “play” with the technology.
(Also started looking at some radios, fun fact: typing “Ham” into Amazon didn’t take me where I expected ;))
