Cool, thanks. Can I suggest also adding a discussion page to the ‘Humanity at Night’ article which is still showing front page of the Features section?

No, that is definitely not the case – there was no discussion topic created for that WordPress post whatsoever. Sorry about that @DrKiki!

If what you described happens, you’d see an auto-inserted staff (dragon flame yellow) message inserted before the close. You’d know. Everyone would know.

@anon73192581 I don’t know if discussion can be linked to a wordpress post after the fact, though.

I raised this with @beschizza a few days ago, we are sending the username Dr. Kiki to us and we have no idea what to do with it. There is a missing mapping in Wordpress.

@codinghorror: Maggie Tokuda-Hall’s posts seem to be doing the Discuss → Continue This Discussion loop too. (At least the Portlandia All-Male Feminist Meeting and Understanding American Football ones.)

If you use an RSS reader you’ll see headlines for articles that were entirely deleted shortly after posting. It’s like a whole Dark BoingBoing lurking beneath the surface.

I looks like Maggie Tokuda-Hall and Kiki Sanford had each put something in their wordpress “discourse username” fields without actually setting up those accounts. I took them out, let’s see if that fixes it!

So – frequently when I am using the CMS for the website I encounter some problems that our tech team and WP are working with us to solve. It occasionally results in the checkbox that creates a sister post here in the BBS to become unchecked before I publish a post. When that happens I have to go a) notice and b) go back and create the thread by checking the box and updating the post.

This may also be happening to other editors and could explain some of the BBS threads not being started in tandem with a post.

Our WP plugin has gotten a fair amount of love in the last year, perhaps its time @deanputney updates it, and perhaps magically it will fix that issue fingers crossed.
