I guess I should have tried the comments link before I made the popcorn. A little disappointed, but I should probably be working, anyway.
Cool, thanks. Can I suggest also adding a discussion page to the âHumanity at Nightâ article which is still showing front page of the Features section?
No, that is definitely not the case â there was no discussion topic created for that WordPress post whatsoever. Sorry about that @DrKiki!
If what you described happens, youâd see an auto-inserted staff (dragon flame yellow) message inserted before the close. Youâd know. Everyone would know.
@anon73192581 I donât know if discussion can be linked to a wordpress post after the fact, though.
I havenât been checking Kikiâs recent articles, but this one also doesnât have a discussion page (and has a loop like the above):
I raised this with @beschizza a few days ago, we are sending the username Dr. Kiki
to us and we have no idea what to do with it. There is a missing mapping in Wordpress.
@codinghorror: Maggie Tokuda-Hallâs posts seem to be doing the Discuss â Continue This Discussion loop too. (At least the Portlandia All-Male Feminist Meeting and Understanding American Football ones.)
and everyone else
yes, raised that with @beschizza he is on it.
I am beginning to suspect this is a ploy to get us to bother looking at the main site again.
Evidently there are authors and articles I am entirely unaware of.
If you use an RSS reader youâll see headlines for articles that were entirely deleted shortly after posting. Itâs like a whole Dark BoingBoing lurking beneath the surface.
And her new article on Crime and Punishment.
I looks like Maggie Tokuda-Hall and Kiki Sanford had each put something in their wordpress âdiscourse usernameâ fields without actually setting up those accounts. I took them out, letâs see if that fixes it!

Looks good to me !
So â frequently when I am using the CMS for the website I encounter some problems that our tech team and WP are working with us to solve. It occasionally results in the checkbox that creates a sister post here in the BBS to become unchecked before I publish a post. When that happens I have to go a) notice and b) go back and create the thread by checking the box and updating the post.
This may also be happening to other editors and could explain some of the BBS threads not being started in tandem with a post.
Our WP plugin has gotten a fair amount of love in the last year, perhaps its time @deanputney updates it, and perhaps magically it will fix that issue fingers crossed.
We have a new software guru coming onboard, Dean left us for an exciting startup! Perhaps itâll be the opportunity for you guys to get to know Scott.
@deanputney left us? He is dead to me now. DEAD TO ME
So take a look at me now, oh thereâs just an empty space
And thereâs nothing left here to remind me,
just the memory of your face
Ah, thereâs ongoing discussion on this issue.
Ms. Tokuda-Hallâs latest post still has no associated discussion.
