What if the employee was completing their share of the work load faster, and had spare time? Is that time necessarily the sole monopoly of the employer? If they were a contractor, you’re paid for the completion of the task, not the hours. I know the expectation is different with an employee, but this does change the insensitive to work faster, or better than your peers.
