Bald eagles are taking trash from a Seattle landfill and dumping it into suburban yards

Landfill emits plenty of greenhouse gases (mainly methane which is far more greenhouse “potent” than CO2) and does so I manner where they can’t really be captured or filtered.

Waste to energy facilities at least have the potential for filtering and capture and storage.

Landfill also almost always results in toxins leaching into the soil and often into the water table.

If the birds are eating the same junk food we humans are, they’ll soon end up too fat to fly.

It is so incredibly appropriate to be getting this payback from these once endangered creatures. I love it!

And the raccoons too; I had to put a child-proof lock on our garbage can.

I’ve seen the same thing on the intercoastal lagoon and oceanfront here in Florida. Although in most cases, the eagle goes away with the fish.
