And wouldn’t they be shooting investment bankers and mortgage brokers, not kids in school and families on a day out?

This shooter was 19 and middle-class, not a burned out 40something who spent his life trying and failing to achieve the American dream. Many other infamous mass shooters (Columbine, Aurora, etc.) were similarly situated.
Saying “poor people of color aren’t driven to mass shootings because they had lower expectations in the first place” is really a concession that privilege plays a bigger role in these shootings than economics.
Yeah, lets make it about mental health so we don’t have to talk about gun control. That’s a common point missing in @faffenreffer list.
Maybe if the shooter hadn’t been given a gun he wouldn’t have the tools to go out killing.
Other countries have mental ill persons too. What these don’t have is guns.
I’m sick of the mental health angle being used as a derailment strategy to shift focus from gun control to something else.
