Because “Good Guy with a Gun” is, by definition, white. :face_vomiting:

Why does this feel a little bit like holding onto Corrections for mistakes they made in stories about black people, just so they could run them during Black History Month?

(It is good they ran Overlooked Obituaries on black people before this, and I’m just hoping they don’t use BHM as an excuse to not run as many in the future).

“He was racist to me” I think he does not understand what these words actually mean.

But this is not. OK, then.

Saw a discussion with Al Sharpton this morning on Morning Joe where he talked about the difference between racial hatred and racial ignorance. I think our gov and his family have a really bad case of ignorance!

Heard her “explanation” of her decision this morning on NPR. Largely seemed to be based on “He was no angel, there was some THC and alcohol in his system” and called out his child and their mother (by name, repeatedly) while showing the texts on his phone. No such revelations on the guys who did the actual killing, but the victim gets his info spread all over the media. And of course, the universal refrain of “They feared for their lives, and he had a cell phone.” Damn it.
