Thereâs a trope that often occurs in both documentary film and fictional movies set in the 1930âs, where you start with a normal, pleasant scene of everyday lifeâŚhappy families, kids playing in the park, young lovers canoodling, etcâŚand then the camera pans past a swastika in the background, jolting the audience but unnoticed by the subjects.
