Of course they did. SMH.
6 year olds throw tantrums. I am not saying that is a good thing, but it is a normal thing. Unless you are black, of course.
Relatedly (is this a word? It should be.) I had a sorta kinda similar situation in my office where a black single mom asked me to have āthe talkā with her 10 year old son who had been disciplined severely and very unjustly by his school. I told her i was not sure i was the guy, as i have never been a black man. She looked me in the eye and said āneither have i. Can you help me or not?ā So i did. Not sure if i did it justice or not, but seriously brought home the unjust, unfair, it aināt right world black kids are forced to grow up in. My heart broke a bit yesterday.
Hopeful? Maybe?
You did a mitzvah. Good on ya!
I think his book will be the perfect gift for my dad whom I suspect is about as āwokeā as Biden, and big on Southern Cooking. I wonder what his reaction would be?
Harriot, as usual, strong and on the mark.
āWhere Karen Pence teaches part timeā Yup, makes perfect sense.
Since the subject of āalliesā comes up a fair amount here, this seems worth sharing.
āReal allies aināt no muthafuckinā cowards.ā
Holy shit:
I was tentatively hopeful that for once, actual justice might prevail; I think Iām in shock that it seems to have actually happened.
And so quickly, too.
10 years is not nothing. I was shocked that she chose to use a castle defense! If it had been anything other than white shooter / black victim it would have been laughed out of court. The investigator who claimed āthere was no crimeā needs to be canned immediately.
I would rather she got life without parole. But anyways.
So would I, but Iām surprised she got anything.
Same here; which is what makes her conviction a step in the right direction.
I so seriously stan Rashida Talib:
