Black Lives Matter. Still

This was from a while ago, too… the video is just coming out.

In the three years since Muhyamin’s death, none of the nine officers involved have been arrested or charged. The officers, identified as Oswald Grenier, Jason Hobel, Ronaldo Canilao, David Head, Susan Heimbigner, Kevin McGowan, James Clark, Dennis Leroux, Ryan Nielsen and supervisor Steven Wong, are all still employed by the Phoenix Police Department.

It is hard to see that and not conclude that the Phoenix PD considers murder to be part of their job. Nine officers either killed or stood around and watched a person be murdered and none lost their job.

That was well worth the watch.

A rhetorical question from Jacob Blake’s father about his paralysed son. He knows the answer as well as we do: the cruelty is the point.

More People of Color being used as props by the RNC without their knowledge or consent.

Also remember the reason for all these images of Black “Trump supporters” (real or otherwise) isn’t to convince significant numbers of Black people to vote for Trump; the Republicans know that’s a non-starter. The purpose of showing off Black Trump supporters is to let white voters convince themselves that they aren’t being racist for supporting him.

This hits me personally; my mom’s side of the family has roots in County Cork.

“probably” would require statistical evidence, they don’t even need that

The usual “she was no angel” justification. Or, in this case, she knew someone who was no angel. Why don’t they just say “she was black, so it was ok to shoot her.” The target audience will accept that just as readily.

It gets worse: they offered her ex a plea deal on condition he implicate her in his drug-dealing.
