I had that landing once in Providence, Rhode Island.

I will never return to Rhode Island.

I got to watch the Blue Angels practicing for Seafair over Lake Washington and I5 driving into work yesterday. It was pretty cool.

The acceleration those F/A-18s can do is amazing. They go from practically half the speed of smell to transsonic so quickly you’ll miss it if you blink.

Air travel usually doesn’t phase me but in 2009 I was in a plane landing at Narita once in pretty severe crosswinds. Our seemingly near sideways landing was extremely memorable.

The kicker was this was a couple of weeks after the FedEx plane has crashed on that same runway and you could still see the scorch marks from that.

That all had me on edge to say the least.
