Boeing indefinitely halts 737 Max production

No, Boeing has been in a death spiral for years, ever since Muilenburg took over. This is just the first publicly visible proof that they are in a death spiral.

Maybe those employees that didn’t want to make crappy airplanes could buy the hulk for cheap and install some not sociopathic management.

Given that the employee parking lot is literally filled with grounded 737 Max planes, this is not surprising.

It’s my understanding that much ofbthe MAX work happens in S Carolina not SEA.

Boeing’s post McD merger made uprooting from SEA/Everett area a priority.

This is absolute proof that we desperately need to reestablish usable passenger railroad service.

Which is just south of SEA.
And the twin aisle planes other than the 787 are made in Everett about 20ish miles north. I used to have a desk there and would get to hike out through the factory at least once a week to grab tapes from the library for file restores in the pre NT4 days.

ETA and Renton is just final assembly. They actually ship whole fuselage assemblies by train from Kansas.
