As someone using “data” as the plural of “datum” since the latter 60s, I have never heard it pronounced any other way.

putting quotes around the word doesn’t really clarify which pronunciation you use. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I sometimes catch “day-tuh” and “da-tah” differences in pronunciation when I talk with older vs. younger American English speakers

Yeah, that’s totally Stewart having fun rather than Picard acting like a starship captain. I still suspect that Rick Berman just lured Stewart to the set by telling him he’d won a new ATV so they could film a few scenes without having to pay him.
