What kind of maniac builds an entire housing estate with no gas hookup? I mean, I know there isn’t a gas hookup everywhere, but if I was building houses, I’d build them where there was one.
And not even purposeful – we’re moving away from fossil fuels – because they use propane instead.
So what happens when the warm, mоist air from the bathroom collides with the cold, dry air from the bedroom? Thunderbolt and lightning?
This is a new estate on the edge of a small, ancient market town. I guess it was too expensive to plumb in mains gas.
Personally I’d have installed air source heat pumps, solar panels and windmills (we’re on top of a hill) but current building regs don’t encourage that.
So, every place in the UK, then
Not everywhere is like this
Ha-ha.
Yes, perhaps a significant proportion of public housing/private rented housing might fall somewhere in that category of badly built/maintained, but our home ownership (occupier/owner) rate in UK is about 66% IIRC and home-owners tend to deal with that stuff, or at least have the freedom to do so.
It is renters/tenants who are not in a position to deal with poor ventilation/insulation issues as they are dependent on their landlord to fix problems. Many landlords shirk their responsibilities (and many created the problems to start with).
Yeah, I was being facetious of course. But as you say, the people who need tips like the above are also the ones living in sub-par housing.
It is annoying how a lot of building codes don’t allow for proper reuse of gray water. The potential for a lot of bad stuff is there, but if it’s done right, it wont happen.
