I’ve eaten worse things. Broccoli, for example.
Nothing wrong ith aphids (or insects in general), but just to set you straight, if there are aphids, there are most likely aphid eggs in the broccoli, and those aren’t as easy to get off with just washing.
Have you ever eaten it with orecchiette?
I like broccoli, and brassicae in general, but that pasta is something else.
There are also cabbage worms in broccoli, and they snug right up in there amongst the boughs. We always cut up and soaked the heads in salt water to kill (and float off) whatever legged things had taken up residence.

I just give them a wash, so I know I’m eating clean aphids.
Not necessarily- most aphids reproduce via live birth through their active season, and only lay eggs for overwintering, often on a different plant from their food plant.
