I bet there are people who keep trying to figure out a way to run a Burn BnB and rent memberships out by the day or hour.
Pretty sure “normal people” didn’t care about cell phone coverage in the early '90s.
Normal people did not own cell phones at that time.
If there was something setting burners apart, it wasn’t that.
The amount of virtue signalling in this topic is, frankly, surprising.
The “relevance” of this event is defined by those who attend or choose to attend. Like about a million other events out there, be it your AD&D group or UFO sighting meetup or Makerfest.
While I totally get the question of relevance, realize you’re speaking about an inherently relative concept, and when you are asking “Is this relevant to a group I care about”, the group someone else cares about may be very different. Posts that disparage those who choose to find something “relevant” under the pretext of not being “your kind of people” don’t have a place here.
As we have done time and time again on the BBS, we can have relevant and informative discussions on the attendance, effect, and significance of a given event without disparaging those who would choose to attend or devote time to it. Respect your fellow mutants even if they have other interests.
Thank you.
Unless you are a shirt-cocker, then your welcome and respect may vary… FYB
