I’m with you. I don’t buy the “admission of guilt” thing as a reason Trump wouldn’t do it. If we could hold Trump to the logical conclusion of what Trump said then the world would be a very different place. It’ll be like this:
“Doesn’t accepting a pardon mean you’re admitting you did something wrong?”
“I didn’t do anything wrong, you are doing something wrong.”
So if I’m in prison for a federal crime, and Trump has one of his flunkies get him a “pardon” form to fill out, and he puts my name on it and signs it, and my lawyer shows up at the prison with the pardon from the president, but I refuse to sign anything or talk to anybody … they will keep me in prison indefinitely?
Not necessarily. They might hang you.
