Meh.

oathbreaker

Anyway, fuck oaths and orders. Doing the right thing is far more important.

"Why has every man a conscience then? I think we should be men first and subjects afterward. It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law so much as for the right. The only obligation I have a right to assume is to, at any time, do what I think is right. "

I guess you feel dumping massive volumes of classified material is fine and just the same as leaking specific items. I happen to disagree, and yes, I do feel that taking an oath to not do specifically this means at the very least, the massive dump is something you should avoid, when trying to maintain honor.

But have you taken many oaths you feel like you’d be validated breaking? It’s really easy to make decrees about what others should and should not do in order to be ethical players. Have you ever been in such a situation?

Just sharing an opinion, each to their own - I don’t do decrees.

The way I see it people who follow orders and oaths over their conscience are potential enemies, not allies.

But that’s just me. I like to reserve the right to change my mind and see it as a big part of being human. Binding future-self to decisions past…well…that just sounds like a form of slavery to me.
