Trump may be unpredictable but he is doing a wonderful job weakening the US, alienating its allies and reducing its international influence. It would be illogical for China to favour Biden.

Um… the past isn’t even past… For example, the history of slavery is VERY relevant to the ongoing death toll in the black community due to the pandemic that our government is currently letting rage across the country, because THEY believe that it will wipe out enough of their political opposition. How is THAT not a genocidal policy?

Then you’re clearly not paying attention. Some of this didn’t start with Trump, but he’s enthusiastically supporting and expanding them. Between the for-profit prison slave labor, to ICE detention facilities putting kids in cages, to supporting brutal regimes abroad we have no moral high ground here.
This doesn’t excuse anything that the Chinese government has done, of course. Rather it demands that we have a better understanding of how power works in the modern age and how governments use violence and targeting of vulnerable groups as a means of governing. Yes, what the Chinese government is doing is most certainly horrific. It’s hardly unique in the modern world.
Sometimes you feel it’s a toss up as to which of Saudi Arabia or China is the worst major, powerful, world regime. Don’t go looking to compare yourself with them America. Please. We want better.
